Red House Gardens, Leatherhead: Landscape Masterplan

Preparation of masterplan and detailed design for the enhancement of Leatherhead's key open space, the Red House Gardens. Following extensive community consultation to ascertain local requirements, proposals were prepared, and the park was duly improved in a phased development. The grounds and play area are now well used.
National Centre for Young People with Epilepsy

Preparation of a landscape strategy for the extensive grounds of the NCYPE. Brief was to assess the landscape setting, with particular regard to the current condition, use and management, landscape and ecology, and inclusive opportunities for play for all the children attending the centre. Issues and opportunities were highlighted and an overall masterplan produced, which established a vision for the future use, enhancement, management and maintenance of the NCYPE grounds.
Hazelwick School, Crawley
Ecological surveys, including specialist reptile, amphibian and bat surveys and preparation of an overall school masterplan as part of the phased re-development of the school. The masterplan addresses the design and use of social spaces for different year groups, creation of a nature area and management and enhancement of perimeter woodlands. Play Area, William Clarke Park, Brighton

The design for a new play area aimed at 8 -13 year olds, under the government's 'Playbuilder' scheme, to complement an existing play area for toddlers. This involved the transformation of part of a large tarmac area into a grassed play area containing challenging equipment for older children, whilst retaining a hard area used for basketball and cycling practice, with associated new planting.
Teachers' Housing Association
Preparation of landscape scheme for planning application for additional accommodation and facilities for a housing site in Surbiton. The challenge was to accommodate the planners' requirements with local housing standards, whilst improving access and circulation and creating a more pleasant environment for the residents on a restricted urban site.
